The Coachio Minute #21
“Your standards aren’t what you say. They’re what you accept.”
Most coaches think standards are personal.
Workout harder.
Wake up earlier.
Be more disciplined.
But your standards are also shaped by who you tolerate.
Late clients.
Negative people.
Constant excuse-makers.
That stuff spreads fast.
Lesson
Every person in your world either raises the bar or lowers it.
And most people wait way too long to deal with the ones draining their energy.
The hardest part about raising your standards isn’t upgrading yourself.
It’s creating distance from the people who keep pulling you backwards.
Strategy
Start paying attention to patterns instead of excuses.
One missed call isn’t the issue.
It’s the repeated chaos.
The constant lack of preparation.
The energy they bring into every interaction.
Good coaches protect their energy like it’s part of the business.
Because it is.
Example:
A coach with 20 clients usually has 2 or 3 who consume most of the emotional bandwidth.
The moment you remove those clients, you suddenly have more patience, better focus, and more energy for the people who actually want help.
Action
Write down the 3 people, clients, or situations currently draining your energy and decide what boundary needs to change this week.
PS
Some people don’t need more chances. They need less access.
